Topic: Warning: ActiveFile deletes Contacts Transfer backups
Contacts Transfer does a better job at backing up and restoring your phone contacts than Symbian's own backup options.
But the SMS backup/restore option of ActiveFile has a bug that deletes Contacts Transfer backups.
The problem is that ActiveFile uses the same folder ("Others") that Contacts Transfer uses. The SMS backups from ActiveFile are stored as Backup-*.smb, Contacts Transfer stores its backups as Contacts.data.z.
When you delete SMS backups from within the ActiveFile SMS backup window, ActiveFile also deletes the Contacts.data.z file from the "Others" folder.
Questions:
1) Can ActiveFile be repaired so that its SMS backup feature doesn't delete Contacts.data.z?
2) Can ActiveFile store its SMS backups in another folder? ../Others/ActiveFilebackups/ would be a good idea, because this way its easy to see you're dealig with an ActiveFile backup file. Better yet, add an option to the settings menu tat lets the user choose where ActiveFile should store its backup files.
3) Contacts Transfer is a great program. Maybe ActiveFile can have a similar contacts backup function included? That would be a useful addition to the SMS backup function.
